To empower creative expression while protecting the most vulnerable of us.
That's what Amefist is here to do.
Every second person between the ages of 18 and 35 has experienced digital violence. This isn't something that's dying down, it's increasing.
Online sexual violence is increasing in prevalence on a daily basis. You may have heard terms like Revenge Porn, cyberstalking, sextortion. All of these are a part of a still growing, very real problem – in addition to an American being sexually assaulted every 68 seconds, 1 in 12 have also experienced this online. LGBTQ+ and BIPOC individuals are 4X more likely to be targeted in an online assault.
We know how intimidating it can be to navigate digital safety when you aren't a cybersecurity expert. That's why we're dedicated to bringing education, resources, and security products to those of us who want to keep our data safe—using emerging technologies tailored to solving the very specific task of keeping women and vulnerable people safe.
As technologists, as advocates for online privacy and against domestic and sexual violence, the idea that technologies exist but are either hard to access or hard to use did not sit well with us.
So here we are, on a mission to empower the best creative expression, while protecting the unprotected. Because the more confident we are in our safety, the better content we create.
